Business Systems Analyst / Project Manager
Location: Chicago North suburbs
Salary: $90K - $105K

Experienced individual required by a global organization with strong experience in business systems analyst and project management. Contribute to and drive the successful implementation and maintenance of enterprise wide business systems. Partner with other business systems analysts on both small and large projects to assure goals and objectives are met within an arranged time frame. Assist in formulating and defining systems scope based on both user needs and an understanding of the business systems and industry, while working closely with other analysts to assure a total solution that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Responsibilities:
• Elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify and manage the business needs of the project stakeholders, and be an effective conduit between the business/customer community and the software development team
• Build strong relationships with the business customer base and a deep understanding of the customer’s operational processes and practices
• Manage the business needs and requirements specifications, verify the fulfillment of all requirements and manage the change request process
• Level of participation will vary per project as will the size of the project
• Proactively search for ways in the current business processes to improve productivity and simplify information system applications
• Manage the implementation of significant projects involving complex systems or multiple deliverables within a department or functional area
• Plan and direct program schedules and budgets
• Monitor program from project initiation through delivery, interfacing with stakeholders on applicable matters
• Oversee the coordination of program/project activities generally within a department or functional areas
• Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the projects on schedule and within budget
• Assign and monitor work of project staff
• Continually meet with business users to understand and develop solutions that support making informed decisions
• Prepare specifications to build or modify data models that support enterprise wide business systems. Monitor and manage business systems to ensure conformity with other business users.
• Gather system requirements from business users to create functional requirements documents, in addition to other required reporting
• Consult with business and technical teams to define necessary requirements
• Act as a liaison with other departments, divisions or organizations
• Participate in and contribute to all phases of system development including requirements, design, development, client training, data conversion, testing and maintenance to achieve the successful development and implementation of the customer’s business need
• Assist in problem analysis by preparing charts and diagrams, and submitting recommendations for the solution, while ensuring conformity with other business areas
• Perform other duties as required

Required Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
• Posses functional knowledge as well as technical knowledge of enterprise wide business systems with a demonstrated ability to work on a variety of projects with other business users
• Demonstrated ability to perform implementation and integration projects within the business systems
• 5+ years solid experience systems analyst and project management
• Must have full knowledge and experience in creating and leading the review / business partner validation of analyst project deliverables for all project phases
• Must have project management experience; including project planning and management using a formal project management toolset and methodology
• Experience in working with external vendors in the development and/or procurement, testing and deployment of technology solutions is a plus
• Experience with process mapping is a plus
• Knowledge of LiveLink, Lotus Notes, web applications and Oracle’s eBusiness application suite is a plus
• PMP certification is a plus
• Lean Sigma training/experience is a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to work and communicate effectively with a wide variety of end users and co-workers
